How do you get inspired to write?

Dean C. Moore Headline news is usually traumatizing enough that I feel the need to heal the wounds through storytelling. Often that takes the form of extrapolating from emerging technologies and pondering how they will entirely change what it means to be human. At other times, it takes the form of paranormal fantasies where I suddenly have all the superpowers I need to deal with this crazy world. They say we regress to an earlier childhood state when we’re suffering from PTSD. Maybe my delving into the paranormal fantasy genre so suitable to YA audiences as well as to adults is testament to that.
