How do you get inspired to write?

Beth Black I like to think about a problem and invent characters who represent potential complications and solutions. Then it's fun to sit back and let them argue in my head. I'm pretty good at dictation. In truth, anyone watching would see a woman talking to herself ... usually in voices!
