Goodreads asked Joe C. Ellis:

How do you get inspired to write?

Joe C. Ellis My high school English teacher and a college professor encouraged me. About twenty years ago I wrote my first novel, THE HEALING PLACE. My next novel, MURDER AT WHALEHEAD, was set on the Outer Banks and I signed with an agent from Writers House, Michele Ruben. Blair Publishing, a NC publisher, sold my third and fourth novels (MURDER AT HATTERAS and MURDER ON THE OUTER BANKS). It's been a fun ride.
