Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Justin C. Louis Myself and Phil grew up reading stories of adventure and discovery, so that's the natural wellspring for our writing. We've also enjoyed challenging some of the long-accepted tropes in Sci-Fi: the weaking human, the evil invaders (who are usually us), the greatly superior alien races, etc.

Have you ever stopped to consider how much of a journey it has been to survive our own world? Where if the gravity was even 10% higher, we likely still not have achieved proper access to space? Where terrible weather, horrible disease, extreme competition within and without our own kind have shaped us in to the beings we are now?

What if everyone else had it a bit easier? What kind of world would THAT be?

That has been the driving theme of my work for the last several years, and I'm not done exploring it yet!
