Goodreads asked Judith L. Pearson:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Judith L. Pearson Don't be discouraged if you get stuck - on a beginning, on a character, on a direction. I'm blessed to rarely be stricken by writers block, but when I do, I move away from that part of my book, and either delve into a different section, or research something else. It's almost like being better able to see stars when you DON'T stare at them, but rather see them with your peripheral vision.

One more tidbit - never be afraid to reach out to authors you admire. Ask them questions (without being a pest of course). There were so many seasoned professionals who never hesitated to give me a hand when I was starting. Literary generosity is #1 on my to do list!
