Suzanne
Suzanne asked Amor Towles:

LOVED A Gentleman in Moscow. Re-reading it now, savoring it. Wondering, what is the significance, if any, of the color yellow? Yellow is everywhere. Nina's dresses; the Christmas present; The Yellow Room at the Boyarsky; the yellow hat the girl was wearing on p.230. I read on the internet that yellow is used to evoke Crime and Punishment, in which Dostoyevsky uses that color to symbolize imprisonment. Is this true?

Amor Towles Suzanne,
The Dostoevsky connection is news to me. But let's go with it!
