Very exciting news. I've become very fond of your characters and look forward to following them in the next two novels. Your mother would be honoured by your work and very proud of you, as I'm sure she was while she was still alive. You are a gifted writer. Have the two forthcoming books been optioned for the series? Is there a date expected for the series launch?

Dear Cathryn, thanks so much for your question and your interest in THE HENNA ARTIST (and your kind words about my writing). I write what I'm interested in and infuse my characters with my values and beliefs about the resilience of women. That's the liberating thing about writing!
I hope the Miramax episodic series will start filming in a few years. There are so many hoops for the producers to jump through that many books that get optioned never actually make it to the screen--big or small. The forthcoming books have not been optioned since THE SECRET KEEPER OF JAIPUR isn't scheduled to be on bookshelves until June 22 and I'm in the process of writing book #3.
In the meanwhile, I continue to discuss the book with bookclubs, libraries and media all over the world (330+ since March 2020). It's such a treat to know that the characters of Lakshmi, Radha and Malik have touched readers across cultures, countries and language (the book is being translated into 23 languages).

Hello Ms. Joshi. Your books have meant so much to me as a South Asian woman and aspiring writer myself. I have fallen in love with your writing and really admire the work that you do. I am looking forward to finally reading your third novel. My background is in Public Relations/Communications, but I would love to publish a novel one day. Would you recommend further education in order to achieve this goal? Any advice?
