Loved your book, Beneath a Navajo Moon! I worked with Navajos in Flagstaff. The language and culture in your story is very authentic; it made me eager to return to “my people” there! Have you lived on the Rez? How did you learn so much about the Dine? I started a novel set near the Tohono O'odham reservation. Any tips on how to find someone willing/able to lend technical assistance on that tribal group near Tucson?

I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. Since my in-laws retired to western Colorado, I've made a lot of trips to the 4 Corners area. I also spent a lot of time researching the Dine, reading everything I could get my hands on. Your novel sounds so interesting. Theirs is a unique culture, too. See if the tribe has a public information person. If your budget allows, travel there and get to know setting and the people who cross your path. Thanks for reaching out. I'm an aspiring writer, but I'm dealing with two things: I get discouraged every single day because 96% of manuscripts are rejected, and I haven't had an idea for years, literally. There's too many people wanting to be writers, and knowing there's so much competition just kills me a little every day. When I get motivated, immediatly something appears about the industry that kills it. Any tips on how to deal with this?
