Before moving to Israel in 2003, a good friend of mine suggested that I send out regular emails, letting people know the "good, bad, and the ugly" of life in Israel. Those were the days, still, of bus bombings in Jerusalem. It was also in the days before Facebook. I sent out regular emails for years. It was suggested that I compile them into a book. That was exactly what I eventually did.
