Fran asked Luna Joya:

are the books separate or do they have to be read in order for a continuing plot line?

Luna Joya Book 1 is the introduction to the main characters (the sisters) of the series. Books 2-5 have a continuing overarching plot line and would make more sense if read in order.
For example, Publishers Weekly reviewed Flash Point with "Joya sends out her Legacy series (after Heart and Seek) with an enticing fifth paranormal romance that finds the five Donovan sisters working to defeat the demon Nymvyra once and for all. . . .The emotional friends-to-lovers romance plays out as a tantalizing tug-of-war between Mina and Josh, while the multilayered suspense plot provides satisfying answers to series-long questions."
However, I'm a book rebel who pops into other series halfway through and then goes back so I understand that madness as well.
