For me, writer's block is triggered by one of two things: I have too much going on outside of writing or I take the story where I want it to go and my characters stop talking to me because I'm messing up their story.
If I have too much going on, I take care of whatever is keeping me overwhelmed and get back to work. If I'm messing up a story by not listening to my characters, I cut what I wrote out and do what they tell me to do.
