Goodreads asked Kassidy VanGundy:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kassidy VanGundy I have two answers for this question. The first is to listen. Listen to the world around you. Keep your eyes and your heart open. Do your best to understand those in close proximity and those further away. Inspiration can come from anywhere, but what experiences you take in will most likely serve as the basis for your work (intentional or not). Likewise, the grace and empathy you give to others in your real life will translate to the grace and empathy you give to your characters. Approach everything with kindness, including yourself and your writing. This will make the whole process more enjoyable and what you write all the more real.

Secondly, practice, practice, practice! Do your best to write a little bit each day, even if its just a sentence or two. Writer's block is real, but it's important to keep persevering. Besides, even if you aren't "feeling creative", you just might surprise yourself! Some of my favorite scenes in Cursed Fate came from absolute nonsense when I was stuck. Just. Keep. Going.
