I've been a fan for a long time (since the good ole days of your LiveJournal blog - that was the absolute best) and so I read the first two books in the Holmes & Moriarity series very close to publication. But I somehow missed that you continued the series several years later. Now I'm not sure where to restart. Is re-reading the first book enough of a refresh or do I need to re-read #1 and #2 before starting on #3?

So *I* need to re-read a series before I can write the next installment, but I don't think you would need to, especially not the first two books in the H&M series. In the third book, a thread opens that continues to the next book, but in the previous books, I think the only real thread is the relationship arc, and that's probably easy enough to follow.
But honestly, other readers probably have a better idea as to whether that's true! :-D

Josh Lanyon:
Josh, one of the things I appreciate about your writing is that you generally avoid falling into that cliched trap that many authors in this genre rely heavily on - specifically, one part of the couple is a rampaging sex addict who has been through the entire town, while the other is an inexperienced prude who's far too naive for his age. Is this intentional on your part, or has it just been by chance?

I just read an ARC of 'Secret at Skull House.'
I did have a couple questions that weren't answered in the book...
1. How did Jack know to go to Skull House the night Cyrus took Ellery there? I didn't think there was enough of a time lapse before he promised Jack he would call him.
2. Why was Tom so upset at Monday Night Scrabble? Was he more connected to the murders than was revealed? Or just close to them?
