Goodreads asked Chris McKinney:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Chris McKinney My version of writer's block occurs when I'm done with a project and have no idea what I'm going to write about next. I haven't figured out a way to generate good story ideas through sheer will. However, once I do have a story idea, I rely on discipline. Every weekday morning, after the kids are at school, I sit and write for at least an hour, maximum four. Sometimes two hours may yield just three paragraphs. Sometimes one hour equals four pages. Either way, I make sure that I sit and write just about every single weekday. Even if I produce just a paragraph, it's a victory.
