Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Alan Frost I have a friend who is a real tinkerer. Likes to take things apart, is good with computers, and that sort of thing. He is also a little odd, often depressed, and has some issues I won't elaborate on. Anyway, one day we were biking and I looked at him and said, "you know, I think I could write a story about you where you're a recluse, depressed inventor who builds a time machine". And that was the beginning of the story for "A Most Unusual Friday Knight".

To my great surprise, he loved the idea :D He was even disappointed I didn't use his real name...
