I've always admired your work, especially Avatar. Three questions that have been nagging me: How did you get the idea to create such an awesome graphic novel? Where did you get your inspiration from? And where did you get that creative mind from?

Gene Luen Yang Avatar: The Last Airbender isn't my creation. The franchise was created by Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, two brilliant writers/animators.

Even when I'm working with other people's characters, though, I try to pull from my own life for story ideas.
