My friend and co-author Don Brown discovered our grandfather while researching and writing his WWII Pacific book, The Last Fighter Pilot." He reached out to me on Facebook messenger asking if General Rupertus was my grandfather. When I replied yes, he said. "He's a hero." And, later told me I should get his story down for our family and history - before it's too late.
