I have always liked Shakespearean theatre and wanted to write a work within that setting. Over time scenes started to appear in my mind, and I became intrigued by how someone became an actor in that time period. However, I am definitely more a character driven writer than a plot one, so 'Airy Nothing' only started to truly take shape once John, and all the issues he faced, came alive for me.
