What’s the best thing about being a writer?

D.A. Rasmussen Being a writer is tough. It's a tough market to break into. It's tough to try and build a following. I guess I have always been drawn to challenges. So I'd have to say that. Because fast food work never challenged me, neither did working on a radio. Both were very easy. But writing, that's where the real difficulties arise. The writing part and coming up with a plot are the easiest parts. But the amount of shadow work one has to do to better their craft is the hardest part. Writing heals.
