I own a marble statue of a faun seducing a nymph. The faun's head was chopped off by a shovel, or so the legend says in the family, when it got dug up after World War 2. Later, the head got glued back on. Nobody knows whose statue it was, or who had made that statue. I think it would be a good plot for a book to write about this statue: who made it, how it got into the family, and why did it get buried when the war started.
