What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Ariella Talix Actually, I'm currently writing a book about a part of my family history that was always a mystery. I've done enough research now to see that a lot of the malarkey that was passed down by word of mouth was absolutely false. This book is called The Golden Rush and revolves around the 1849 California Gold Rush. I won't get into personal family specifics, but I am now certain about some of the things I've always doubted. The story is not about my ancestors, but their stories prompted my interest.
