What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Dale Kueter Thanks for the question. The one thing that comes to mind is the mystery of my wife's grandfather. Grandpa Pete had a penchant for gambling, so much so that he was draining the equity in his farm. This was in the 1930s. His in-laws, so the story goes, offered to pay his gambling debts (hence save the farm) if he'd leave Iowa. That was a pretty harsh bargain, but Peter agreed, Why would he relinquish his family and local ties? Grandpa Pete was never heard from again. Relatives didn't tell anyone about the "deal" or what happened to him, adding fog to the mystery of Grandpa's destiny.
