Funny you should ask. A great great great aunt on the Southern side of my family may have poisoned three husbands. She was acquitted the first time, thanks to the chivalry of the gentlemen of the jury. But did she really do it? And what happened to her second husband, whom she married almost immediately after the first one died of arsenic poisoning? There appears to have also been a third husband--but was my ancestor the same woman who made her way up to Minnesota, married a rough-mannered tavern owner, and was hanged for poisoning him with arsenic? I have records and have been wanting to write a book about this.
