I get inspired by starting with an image search. I pick out photos of guys I think would be hot to see together. That often means going for diverse characters, which for me if often expressed in terms of race and also style. I love mismatching the MCs. For example, putting preppy jocks with sassy twinks, or bringing together a closeted MC with an LGBTQ rights activist. Once I know what my guys look like, I develop each character in the series by answering approx. 100 questions about them. By that point, I'm so excited to write them, it's a mad dash to get all the words on the page.
