How do you get inspired to write?

Sejul Nerve I can find it tough not to get overwhelmed by the world. I suffer from a fear of life itself, of it's speed and merciless unpredictability, When I immerse myself in science fiction (by reading or writing) my mind is at ease. Here I can decide the pace of storytelling and play with the outcome. Writing science fiction helps me to cut the big chunk of life in smaller digestible pieces. It's my telescope to analyze and understand the many aspects of life from a safe distance.

Ik kan het moeilijk vinden om niet overweldigd te worden door de wereld. Ik lijdt aan een angst voor het leven zelf, van de snelheid en genadeloze onvoorspelbaarheid. Als ik mij onderdompel in science fiction (door te lezen of schrijven) is mijn geest in rust. Hier bepaal ik het tempo van verhaalvertellen en met de uitkomst spelen. Science fiction schrijven helpt mij om de grote brokken van het leven in kleine verteerbare stukjes te snijden. Het is mijn telescoop om de vele aspecten van het leven te analyseren en te begrijpen van een veilige afstand.
