Any story told by my father about his life, and therefore anything relating to my father's presence in my life, is ipso facto a mystery, since the man is a pathological liar. I have ideas for novels that would, in a fictionalized form, help me unravel some of those mysteries, but I am deliberately saving work on them until after his eventual death, so that I can call upon them as means of doing the work of mourning.
