Andy Weir I really prefer small companies. I feel kind of lost and unimportant when I work for huge companies. So I think I wouldn't like it much.

Hello Mr.Weir. I'm a huge fan of The Martian and I personally think humour is the only way to best experience life. But, do you think the book would still work if the protagonist had taken a deep, no-nonsense, contemplative view? Did you ever visualize The Martian on a serious emotionally exploratory note, darkly observant, possibly with a nihilistic twist leaving readers with despair for earthly life let alone Mars?
