Mr Modesitt I really enjoy your exploration ethical issues especially economics in earlier societies. I wanted to send you this you tube link of a British Museum tale of 4000 year old contraband. It is just 7.58 minutes and I am sure the sure is about factorages or possible early high holders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQIBf7eeXG8 Thank you for all your books Paul

Thank you for the link. It's quite interesting, and it turned out to be quite relevant because I'm currently writing a part of a new novel that deals with some of these aspects of trade.
Again... thank you.
Again... thank you.

I read your work from the beginning of the Saga of Recluse but became frustrated with the seeming lack of direction that the series had after 3-4 books. I've always been interested in revisiting the series but my frustration with reading the early disorganization of related stories without an explanation makes me hesitant. What do you say to draw back in early readers of the Recluse series who abandoned it?

In Isolate, there are a large number of characters and their relationships to track, which reflects real life politics. From Isolate, in chapter 99, Steffan Dekard and Avrall Ysella have lunch with Laurenz Korriah and Shaundara Keppel, and it is important to know that they on the staff of Landour representative Kharl Navione, who is on the security committee. Do you have a list of all characters that you can share?

Sir, could I ask 1 more question? Which book that you have read in your lifetime gave you the biggest book hangover as defined by how much you missed reading it after finishing and had trouble thinking of the next book to read? For myself it is one of your books "Gravity Dreams" as I missed the quauntum physics, nanite technology, Tyndel and Cerrelle discussions, the new universe of Engee and Rykasha relationship.
