Michael Beadley
Michael Beadley asked Tracy Cooper-Posey:

Hi I really like the the first two endurance books and am going to read all of them. Can I please ask some advice. Did you pay for an editor for your first book? Would you advise others to do so? Also any advice on getting your first book to sell when you are completely unknown? Kind regards

Tracy Cooper-Posey Hi Michael:

I have always paid for an editor for all my indie-published titles, and I recommend that all indie authors have their manuscripts at least line-edited and thoroughly proofed before they publish.

Finding readers when you're a new author is a very broad topic. If I reduced it to one piece of advice, it would be to write and publish the next book in the series, and the one after that. Trying to sell a single title, when the reader has nothing else to read after they've read that, is a waste of effort and money.

Also find a way to capture those readers who do read your first book, so you can tell them about the next one. These days, that's usually with a reader magnet and an email list--classics that still work.

Good luck.

Tracy
