My book is about the love lives of philosophers. I was inspired by Simone de Beauvoir's She Came To Stay, in which she describes Sartre as a lover, an imperfect man, with all his flaws and foibles laid bare. That led me to ask the question: What if we got to know other philosophers through their lovers?
