So, the "new" Darkblade novels (Hunter, Protector, Slayer, and Savior) are basically combined and re-edited copies of the "hero of darkness" series, right? If I stick to darkblade, I should just ignore "Hero of Darkness", right?

Andy Peloquin The grand story arc of Hero of Darkness 1-6 are combined into Darkblade 1-4. However, though the grand arc remains the same, the individual stories and details have been hugely changed. You'll HAVE to read the new books in order to understand what's happening in Darkblade 5 and beyond, with the all-new Hunter stories.
