Hi Juliet, I've loved your books for many years, you have such a talent for building rich characters that linger with the reader long after the last page. I was just wondering if you have any events lined up in Australia this year?
Juliet Marillier
Hi Nicole, and thanks for the lovely comment on my characters - I do try to make them real human beings with flaws and strengths.
Re events - in pandemic times it's hard to plan really far ahead (especially living in WA where the borders have only just reopened.) I have two smallish events in May, both in or near Perth: a talk at High Wycombe library on the evening of May 9, and a talk at a (private) Writers Retreat later the same week. Supanova Perth is a possibility but I have not yet committed to it. At this stage I have no interstate travel booked for the rest of 2022. I am scheduled to attend a Writers Retreat at Crom Castle in Ireland in June (my first overseas travel in a long while.)
I have done several online things - link below to a very recent reading and Q&A I did for The Pixel Project. It was done live, but recorded for The Pixel Project's YouTube channel.

Hi Juliet, I've always been a huge fan of your work, I think this has something to do with my Scottish/Celtic heritage. I know you write mostly from the point of view of humans living alongside and wandering into the other-world. I wonder, would you consider writing a fantasy novel in the reverse? This was just a thought that occurred to me recently, I thought that if anyone could do it, it would be you! :)

Hello Juliet! I've been in love with your books since I first found them in my school library years ago. I was just wondering what (if anything) have you found to be the most surprising and/or rewarding thing about writing? And also, were you scared when you first decided to pursue writing for a career?

Just finished cybele’s secret and I so wish there was another book! Is this something you may self publish? I think this series came out right before these types of books got huge! I love the story of the sisters and the other world and the romance!! What an amazing read to both! I started wildwood dancing when I was 14 and I wish I knew there was a second book back then! Not enough advertisement went throughs it!
