What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Michael Hicks Thompson Read. Read the genre you're writing in. Enroll in a Media Bistro Master Novel writing course (online). Worth every penny. Write. Re-write. Get trusted readers in a Tribe to offer critical feedback. Listen to them. Write and re-write. You're now about five months into your novel! Once you believe you've wiped out all plot holes, grammatical snafus, and non-interested scenes, hire the best editor and pay them a thousand to make it the best it can be. Then ... well, then you have to decide how to get it published. And that's a story for another time. Keep the faith.
