Goodreads asked Michael Hicks Thompson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Michael Hicks Thompson Break through it. Period. Mind over matter. Okay, not a good answer, I'll admit. Here's what I do. In the AM I review/edit what I wrote the afternoon and night before. That get's my juices/confidence pumped up knowing that I've improved my work from the day before. Lunch. Nap. (30 minutes.) Then I'm on to the next 2,500 words, hopefully. But ... I always have the next morning to edit. Pumped up again!
