Barbara Graham Send your inner critic on vacation and give yourself the freedom to keep writing every day, even when you think what you have is terrible. Every first draft is terrible in its own way, but it's essential to trust the process and stay with it. When you get to the second draft of whatever you're writing--a story, a novel, an essay--it will come so much more easily. But your inner critic should remain on vacation for that draft too.
