Thank you for the references. I'm working my way around Mailerlite and have found it takes as much time as writing (Grrrr). Perhaps I'll master it one day?

You will get it. You take a couple of hours and write a few posts in advance, Then you set them for when you want them to go out. Just write what is of interest to you and most of your readers will be interested. What you like will show, so don't make it a chore. Think about what you'd like to hear from your favorite author that doesn't involve writing tips and hints. Save that for groups of authors. When I pick up a book or sign up for a list, I want what they are doing, little snippets of their life and what they are working on.
