One cannot read your novel without thinking of Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles". What do you think of that book? Have you considered the idea of writing a "Bradburian" version of your story? (i.e. an extraterrestrial being observing Watney, or Watney telling the "true" version of his adventure he didn't dare to record on his log)

What I was particularly impressed with was the nature (i.e. attitude and where the characters were coming from) and the mood of all the characters - which seemed very reasonable and plausible. How did you get to picking and setting that up? How much was it from experience with particular people and how much your own invention?
