Yes! In scifi, some of my favourites are Cal Sagan's Contact (the book, not the movie) and the works of Charlie Jane Anders (especially The City in the Middle of the Night) and Monica Byrne. I loved The Expanse series but haven't yet read the books. In fantasy, I've been recently really enjoying books by Rebecca Roanhorse and N.K. Jemisin, and I'm also a fan of the His Dark Materials series.
