Hi Jodi. I just finished rereading all of the St Mary's and Time Police books - I decided to reread after reading C of C and starting some friends on the books. I love the whole series. The two questions I have for you at the moment are: (1) do you see the Time Police series as YA? (2) I've heard you say Jodi Taylor is a pen name. Can I ask what your real name is? Is that too personal?

Hi Su. I didn't write the Time Police specifically to be YA. I think the tone is younger because the characters are. As was Max when she first started her story in JODTAA. She's aged - although possibly not matured - over the years, and I'm hoping Team Weird will as well. Although I'm not optimistic. And yes, JT is my pen name. Best wishes.

Can you tell me more about Dr Bairstows car? In my mind I see it as a wonderful stately old style Bentley, which makes the way Max and Leon treat it even more outrageous, but perhaps you see it as a snazzy modern version? On the subject of Kindles the main reason I like it is that I can buy a new book in seconds without having to get the car out and drive for almost a hour to the nearest bookshop.
