Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?

D.M. Austin One of the Tipton Herald's biggest headliners that ran in January 1867 was: Widower Plucks Eyeballs from Wife's Corpse.

When questioned as to why the body of Jessie Ward had been disinterred from her resting place in the churchyard of St Mark's and her eyeballs plucked from their sockets, her husband of three years, Aaron Ward aged twenty-nine from Ocker Hill, told local Constable Tanner the spirit of his wife had haunted him every night since her recent death and that by removing her eyes he had hoped to prevent her spirit from journeying to him.
