Rebecca Brothers
Rebecca Brothers asked Ally Malinenko:

Really enjoyed Ghost Girl so much. I love how your characters are so honest about their struggles. Were you ever worried about the gatekeepers not letting kids read your book? (the devil references). I write middle grade horror and I'm trying to stay true to my vision for the book and silence the voices telling me no one will let their kids read about witches and ghosts, though I'm certain those kids want to!

Ally Malinenko When I first wrote the book Principal Scratch was Preacher Scratch and my editor needed that to be changed. So I guess my best advice to you, is don't self-censor. Write the witch. Write the ghost. Write scary because kids love horror. And if it's too much, your editor will let you know.

Good luck!
