How do you get inspired to write?

Ruthy Baker I fell into writing by chance, as I worked with someone who, despite severe disabilities, had lived an amazing life, and I suggested she write a book about her experiences. Amazingly, the manuscript was snapped up by the first agent I approached and was optioned for a television dramatization.

Because of that, people approached me to help them write books and the writing snowballed from there. But writing was simply a hobby that I fitted around my working day. It's only within the last few years that I've begun writing for myself.
