Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Arleen Alleman For Alternate Currents, the fourth in series, I wanted to bring back characters from the first book in the series. They are domestic partners who live in Seattle with their daughter through surrogacy. The story just took off when I began research on the science and legal issues surrounding assisted reproductive technology.
