How do you get inspired to write?

Steven Barron I don’t, really. My approach—things that made sense to me early on—like an endurance endeavor, writing requires consistency—so if you’re going to write, you need to show to the page daily, like an athlete approaches their particular discipline. Also, and equally significant, writing is a waiting game—so try and be ready when an idea presents, even if it’s just scribbling a hasty note onto a paper scrap, or napkin, or blurting a line into a voice recorder.
