Goodreads asked Edward L. Conley:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Edward L. Conley First, set achievable goals, such as 200 words a day or I’ll write for five minutes every morning. Make them ridiculously easy. Too many aspiring authors set crazy hard goals and when they fall short they think they are failing. And then they often quit. Build positive momentum by allowing yourself to experience constant success while writing.

Second, keep making decisions, however imperfect they may be. Don’t stay stuck. Even terrible decisions are better than no decision. Keep moving forward.
