Goodreads asked Mark Cheverton:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Mark Cheverton My advice to aspiring writers is to write and keep writing. My first book, called The Crystal Tear, received almost 200 rejections from agents and is still unpublished. Looking back at it...wow, it was terrible. All those agents were right! Commit to finishing your book and tell people that you are going to finish it so that they ask you about it. Then, once you have finished your book, start writing another while you are doing the agent-query dance. The more books you write, the better you will get at writing. Write...write...write.
