Goodreads asked Debra A. Fristik:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Debra A. Fristik I loved climbing trees when I was a child. With book in hand, I would scramble up the maple in our front yard, and read.

As years passed, I would take note of kindred spirits who enjoyed trees. I was drawn in particular to John Muir's writings. He once said of himself, "I care to live only to entice people to look at nature's loveliness," for he knew that intrinsically people wish to protect those things they hold dear. Through his writing he was able to influence people to care about the destruction of natural resources to the point that they'd intercede for the preservation of forests, wilderness, and the creatures that dwelt there.

He influenced me -- inspiring me to write a book for two purposes 1) raising money for tree planting organizations, and 2) communicating the importance of rightly stewarding natural resources such as trees.

Thank you to all of you who have been supportive. I appreciate you!
