Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Katherine Greene The idea for THE WOODS ARE WAITING was inspired by the tight-knit community A. Meredith grew up in Appalachia. Her grandmother lived by her superstitions. She would tell her to lift my feet when going over railroad tracks and hold her breath when driving by a graveyard. A's childhood home had a horseshoe above the entrance. We wanted to take these rather benign things that she grew up with and turn them dark and scary. We figured it was an interesting story to tell.
