Goodreads asked Georgina Warren:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Georgina Warren There are three things that aspiring writers must have in order to succeed at writing stories and selling them: a flexible mind, patience, and courage.
1. A good writer knows how to express personal interests and preferences, but writers collect inspiration from everything. Try exploring things outside your general interests, that will give you a more rounded perspective so that more readers can connect with your stories.
2. When writing, authors need patience for those days when writer's block hits and it's hard to move yourself forward with the plot. They must also be patient during the publishing and marketing process, sometimes there is a lot of waiting when your connections have other commitments before they have time to address your work.
3. If you believe you have a story worth telling and that there are readers that will appreciate your vision, you will be strong enough to handle those difficult moments when everyone is too busy or lacks interest in reviewing your work. Many people won't like the book you created or they might prefer a different title. Don't get discouraged. Everyone has different preferences. You might be disappointed when you don't sell 1000 copies in the first month of publication, but most books on the best seller market tend to be run-of-the-mill types with cookie cutter characters. Even if you have a unique idea that only draws 50 readers, your efforts will be appreciated because those readers needed your vision. Gather many followers and friends so they can support you against the critics and the neigh-sayers. The world can be tough for new authors, but so are you!
