Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Gordon Highland When writing Flashover, I was tired of seeing all these clichéd clairvoyant characters always helping strangers, and wondered why they never made it personal. Why not have them confront their own abilities and limitations, even be suspicious of them? I'm also a huge fan of southern gothic, and while not quite fluent myself, I tried to capture some of its tongue with a small-town vibe.
